HOPONG, INDIGO MOUNTAIN
Indigo mountain is a community farming group from Hopong. In an extremely beautiful mountainous area of Shan state, the coffees grown here are from hillsides traditionally used for poppies. However, as more coffee is produced, less hillsides are used to cultivate poppy - a move mirroring developments in Thai Shan and Karen regions more than a decade ago. These Pa O' ethnic farmers have been processing specialty grade coffee for 4 years now and consistently score some of the highest SCAA grades of all Myanmar coffees. Big bold, juicy profiles are characteristic of Hopong coffee, and these are 2 of the finest to be grown so far;
